Charlie Mitchell is a fourth grader at William McKinley Elementary School. His desire for peanut M&Ms sometimes gets in the way of him being successful in class. He has been known to barter, sell, even beg for candy, trading cards, toys, and trinkets . . . heck, anything he can trade for sixty-five cents, the cost of a sunburst-yellow packet of heaven-sent chocolaty goodness-Charlie’s one weakness. A “gifted underachiever,” Charlie often gets distracted in class and sometimes finds outlandish trouble even while trying to follow school rules.
